These include, among others, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and some skin and soft tissue infections. It is also used in the treatment of bacterial meningitis and for the prophylaxis of endocarditis in patients with certain heart conditions before surgical procedures. Ampicillin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in the death of susceptible bacteria.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach 5 ml of suspension contains: Ampicillin (as trihydrate) 250 mg.
