Atorvastatin acts by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, which results in a decrease in cholesterol production in the liver and an increase in the uptake of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) by the liver, thus contributing to the normalization of blood cholesterol levels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach Lipitor tablet contains 10 mg of atorvastatin as the active ingredient.
