It is used as monotherapy or in combination with metformin or sulfonylureas in patients who do not achieve adequate blood glucose control. Pioglitazone acts as a PPAR-γ agonist, resulting in increased insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, as well as a reduction in hepatic glucose production.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach Gliozac tablet contains 15 mg of pioglitazone as active ingredient.
