It is also effective in the treatment of sepsis and in surgical prophylaxis to prevent postoperative infections in high-risk surgical procedures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach ampoule of Amcef IM contains 1 g of ceftriaxone. Excipients: water for injection and other inactive excipients.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eContraindications\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAmcef IM is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in neonates (under 28 days old) who require treatment with calcium-containing solutions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003ePrecautions\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCaution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis. It is important to monitor kidney function during treatment, as ceftriaxone can cause kidney toxicity. In case of severe allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately.
