It is used in patients who cannot achieve adequate blood glucose control with diet and exercise alone, or when control is unsatisfactory with other oral antidiabetics. It can also be used in combination with insulin or with other oral antidiabetic agents. Glimepiride works by stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreas and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach Amaryl tablet contains 2 mg of glimepiride as the active ingredient.
